Hello!
Each week we’ll put together a curated list of the best of what we’re reading from around the web. This list won’t feature much on Brentford, directly, and sometimes it won’t even feature football.
With Previews, Matches, Podcasts and everything else outside of that it has felt like an especially busy week at Bees Tactical.
So busy in fact, we haven't had time to read for pleasure.
That's not entirely true, there's always time for pleasure reading, starting with this piece from David Sumpter on the overconfidence of men.
Spoiler alert, men are overly confident. https://link.medium.com/RS1FrUsEFbb
Another writer we enjoy whenever he puts pen to paper is Jamie Hamilton.
His latest offering delves into the the eeriness surrounding Scotland making it to an international tournament for the first time in a, well, rather long time. Has the emotion and sensation of what that should mean been suppressed by the pandemic world we're struggling to navigate? "Silent Shout" linked below is a must read.

Marcus Forss is making waves in the football sphere, rumoured to have already been watched multiple times by representatives of top European clubs.
As his reputation grows, more and more analysis on him and his attributes are going to emerge. Like this, penned only a number of weeks ago and in some aspects, analysis that he has already outgrown. It's almost as if young players develop when they play.

Briefly mentioned on this month's podcast with David and Jon, ALPHONSO DAVIES is a modelling framework dividing out players by their roles on the pitch. Because we found the work of Sam Goldberg and Mike Imburgio so interesting we thought we'd share it again for your pleasure.
And lastly,
Has Finland's rise on the international football scene occurred by happenstance or is there structured work going on behind the scenes to help them prosper?
This piece from First Time Finish will help fill in the blanks.
